This practice area includes the design and implementation of simple, as well as sophisticated, estate plans,
including wills, various trust arrangements, asset protection planning, charitable planning, and where it is
appropriate in the context of a family owned and operated business, related business reorganizations and restructuring.
C&A has a significant depth of experience in assisting the family business create and implement successful
business succession strategies as part of an integrated estate and business plan.
In this field, C&A will meet with clients and after a review of, and understanding of,
the clients' goals and objectives, C&A will make recommendations and assist in the development
of wills, revocable living trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, GRATs and other split-interest
trusts, family limited partnerships and limited liability companies, trusts for minors, qualified personal
residence trusts, charitable remainder trusts, among other strategies, and assist in the funding of same.
C&A works closely with other family advisors -- such as financial planners, investment advisors, certified
public accountants, professional insurance representatives, and so forth -- in order to provide a
multi-disciplinary approach to achieving identified goals. C&A also represents families and fiduciaries
in probated estates, and trust- and estate-related litigation.
C&A's real estate law practice involves the complete range of professional
services necessary for real estate clients, such as real estate developers and investors,
homeowners and property-owner associations, corporations, trusts, limited liability companies,
partnerships and individuals. These services include consultation and representation in these areas:
- Acquisition, disposition, financing and leasing of commercial, industrial and residential properties.
- Commercial and residential subdivision development and property owner association formation.
- Negotiation and document preparation of various forms of financing, including construction and commercial loans.
- Representation of landlords and tenants in connection with commercial and industrial leasing arrangements.
- Homeowner and property association representation.
